Marqués de Riscal Tinto Reserva 2014 75 cl.Bodegas Herederos del Marqués de Riscal
Bodegas Herederos del Marqués de Riscal elaborates this vegan old red wine in the D.O.C. Rioja (España) with tempranillo, graciano y cariñena grapes.
The Riscal Marqués Reserves are basically elaborated from grapes from vineyards of the variety Tempranillo planted before Of the 70s, located in the best calcareous clay floors of La Rioja Alavesa. This variety supports wood-up-aging and bottle aging thanks to its good acid balance and its fine tanagement. The Graciano Varieties and Mazuelo (Cariñena), whose percentage in the mixture does not exceed 10%, bring freshness and color vividness. Fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature of 26ºC with a maceration time that does not exceed 12 days. Riscal reserves remain approximately two years in American oak barrels, configuring a wine that is framing within the canons of Rioja classicism, fresh, fine, elegant and with great aging potential. Before going on the market, it has a minimum one-year bottle tuning period.
Cherry wine was very covered, intense and with just signs of evolution. On the nose it is very expressive with notes of licorice, cinnamon and black pepper, where the long wood aging is barely perceived, thanks to its great complexity and concentration of mature fruit. In the mouth is fresh, with very nice polished tannins, with good structure but easy to drink. The end of the mouth is long and leaves a few balsamic memories of great quality.
This wine domestic well with ham, not very cured cheeses, stews with not very spicy sauces , cooked legumes or stewed, birds, red meats, grilled meats and roasted.
