LAN D-12 2017 75 cl.
Bodegas LANDescription
Elaboration:
Elaborated with a selection of 100% Tempranillo grapes of small plots of Rioja Alta and Alavesa, LAN D-12 collects the tradition of the ancient Riojan wine growers to select their best deposit and reserve it for own consumption. After the alcoholic and malolactic fermentations, the wine made a 12-month aging in new barrels of new American oak coming from the Appalachians (70%) and new French oak from Chateauroux and Loches forests (30%). Selected wood from extrafine grain and dried naturally for 36 months to get a fine and elegant wood, which is integrated adequately with wine. A careful aging with which they seek to maintain the intense fruit and give it the necessary aromatic and refined complexity.
Since the selection of this wine is carried out in a "hedonistic" maner, once the alcoholic fermentation is finished, each vintage can have a different origin.
Tasting note:
Bright cherry color. Intense red fruit aroma, strawberry and raspberry with a subtle touch of more mature fruit on a slight background of tofes and cookie. The aromas of oak are very well integrated with the fruit, providing a very thin and elegant nose. In the palate it is velvety and soft, showing itself very balanced and harmonious. Very polished tannins and a retronasal to cocoa and coconut.
Pairing:
Red and grilled, smoked meats, spicy dishes and cured cheeses.
