Pago de Carraovejas 2019 is one of the heavyweights of the D.O. Ribera del Duero. It is made from three grape varieties: Tinto Fino 93%, Cabernet Sauvignon with 4% and Merlot with 3%. This coupage is made from grapes coming from the winery's own vineyards and a small percentage from other vineyards located in Ribera del Duero, specially supervised by the winery. The grapes are harvested by hand and transported using a method involving small stainless steel trailers to prevent breakage. Fermentation is then carried out in small stainless steel tanks and the wine spends up to 12 months in new and semi-new French oak barrels for up to three years. After egg clarification, the red wine rests for twelve months before being put on the market.

Tasting note: Penafiel wines can be described as elegant. Pago de Carraovejas is no exception. Somewhat spicy and with a deep hint of oak, it is fruity on the nose and powerful on the palate. A true wine that will delight wine lovers.
