Marqués de Vargas Reserva 2016 is the new expression of Marqués de Vargas Reserva. Overseen by the oenologist Ana Barrón, the different grape varieties are extracted from the legendary Hacienda Pradolagar. The blend is made from Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Garnacha, harvested by hand and triaged on the selection table. Fermentation is carried out in different stages: on the one hand in stainless steel tanks, on the other hand in small cement tanks and French oak vats of different sizes. After about 13 days the process takes place under the watchful eye of the winery's oenologists. Then the red wine is placed in French, Russian and American oak barrels for a five-year life span. After 18 months in these barrels it remains in the bottle until it reaches its optimum state. Marqués de Vargas practices sustainable agriculture and applies it to its vineyards and wines.
Tasting notes: Wine with a character and elegance typical of the D.O.C Rioja. It is ideal with red meats and intense cheeses. We recommend decanting.
