History has united the Rioja Alavesa and wine to the point that one cannot be understood without the other. A unique geographical location protected from the north by the Cantabria mountain range and seeking the fertility of the Ebro valley to the south. A limestone soil that provides all its temperament, a humid climate with just the right hours of sunshine and appropriate temperatures each year make the Rioja Alavesa an enclave conceived by and for wine.

This is where Bodegas Lar de Paula appears, where two different styles of work come together to obtain excellent wines. It is the wine that marks its own evolution, the one that marks the times.

Only specially selected wines remain in the traditional winery. Those that during the first chapter of the elaboration have shown an exceptional behavior for aging begin a stay in the quieter rooms of our winery.

An experimental winery to be able to innovate and bring to the market wines with very particular grape varieties, of very old ages and very short productions. For all this we use a manual harvest in boxes to later discard the grapes that do not meet the quality standards on the sorting table.

In the vineyards, their care is very delicately planned, converting all the necessary time in the laborious care at the foot of the vineyard, selecting the best grapes from the best suppliers of Lapuebla, Laguardia, Elvillar, Lanciego and Kripan.

The whole process prior to the beginning of the harvest is focused on the quality of the fruit, so that it acquires all those virtues and qualities that will later determine the personality of Lar de Paula wines.
