The Mortlach distillery was the first legal distillery to be established in Dufftown. Located on the site of an illegal distillery, it began producing whisky from the Speyside region in 1832. Since its beginnings they have been very limited whiskies and even during the Second World War they produced a small quantity of bottles. This Mortlach 14 Years Old is a tribute to the founder of the distillery: Alexander Cowie. Also called Alexander's way this whisky has been distilled 2'81 times, an obsession of Alexander's that has finally endured and been captured in this single malt.
Mortlach 14 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is matured in sherry and bourbon casks to give the distillate a sweet and spicy character. Citrus notes are also very present both on the nose and on the palate. A whisky that will delight connoisseurs.
