Bollinger La Grande Année 2014 75 cl.
BollingerBollinger makes this sparkling wine from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grape varieties in Champagne A.O.C. (France).
Description
Bollinger La Grande Année is the embodiment of an exceptional and timeless champagne thanks to the artisanal know-how used in its production. The 2014 vintage gave rise at Bollinger to a wine that is precise, fine and complex at the same time, due to its minerality and exceptional intensity.
The 2014 Grande Année is a blend of 19 wines mainly from Aÿ and Verzenay with 61% Pinot Noir and Chouilly and Oiry with 39% Chardonnay.
Fermentation takes place entirely in oak barrels and maturation takes place under cork stoppers, during a cellar aging time more than twice as long as the AOC standards. The moderate dosage is 8 grams per liter.
Tasting notes:
In the glass it shows a color tinged with golden reflections, evidence of the wine's maturity, but also of Bollinger's winemaking methods.
Fruity and precise nose. Aromas of cherry and lemon mingle with quince. Secondly, notes of hazelnut, almond, mirabelle plum and peach complete this aromatic palette.
The palate opens with a fine and intense effervescence, followed by a beautiful vinosity and balanced by a delicate acidity. Its very fine texture gives it great length on the palate accompanied by complex flavors of orchard fruits and citrus.
