Bunnahabhain 12 years old began its journey in 1979 providing floral aroma and smoky notes to the palates of the most demanding Scotch whisky drinkers. Located in the Islay region, its production is still very important for the distillery after 40 years, thanks to the passion of its staff. Bunnahabhain means 'mouth of the river' in Gaelic and is the spirit that drives the distillery. This whisky is matured in bourbon and sherry casks, providing exquisite complexity, a round body and perfect balance. Bunnahabhain 12 years old has been awarded in 2021 by The Scotch Whiskey Masters , in the International Spirits Challenge of 2020 and in the World Singapore Spirits Competition in 2019 with a gold medal. Finally, at the World Whiskeys Awards he won the silver award in 2020.
Its color is reddish gold and in the glass it provides fresh and floral aromas. In the glass, the characteristic smoke of the Islay is still present, but in a milder way than other whiskys in the region. The finish is round and light, providing sweet and fruity notes.
