The main contribution of Matusalem to the history of the rums was the adoption of the Method sole to aggravate the Ron. In 1872 the first Matusalem is elaborated under the premise of creating the softer rum ever tested. Its creators, with experience in the preparation of Brandys and Cognacs, implemented this novel method for the RONES.
